Northern Sweden, the ideal destination for an adventure holiday

In the north of Sweden, in the area dominated by the Arctic Circle, lies a magical region.  There the forests are exuberant, the waters wild and the air pure. In summer you can enjoy something special: the midnight sun. For 100 days it never gets dark. There is no other way to discover the profound tranquility of nature than by living it.

The city Skellefteå is the gateway to Lapland and therefore an excellent place to start your adventure in northern Sweden. To get there you can take a plane, there are several flights that connect with Skellefteå airport.

Ryanair flies direct from Girona and Spanair/SAS does it, with a stopover in Stockholm, from Madrid and Barcelona. In Skellefteå there are two 4-star hotels (Best Western Stadshotellet and Best Western Malmia), first-class restaurants (Stiftsgarden and Nygatan 57) and many outdoor activities nearby.

Discover the untouched nature by bike or canoe, or try fishing for your own salmon in the Skellefteå River. You cannot miss the two most important festivals of the summer: the Stadsfesten (a music festival) between June 29 and July 3 and the Matfestivalen (a fantastic gastronomy fair), from August 25 to 28.

An extraordinary place in Swedish Lapland is the Tree Hotel in Harads. It’s an exciting experience and a unique collaboration between some of Scandinavia’s leading designers and architects. Everything to create a unique and fun home conceptthat has caused a sensation all over the world. This hotel has opened its doors in 2010 and consists of six rooms (more are being built) totally different in design and shape.

As a guest you will hear the whisper of the wind as it passes through the treetops, the smell of the forest on the land, the singing of the birds when the day wakes up, and all this from your accommodation. An original and unique destination for an adventure vacation.
